The Jewellery Design Excellence (JDE) Award was launched by Hong Kong Jewelry Manufacturers’ Association in 2006. Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will be the organiser of the International JDE Award 2009, co-organised by Hong Kong Jeweller’s & Goldsmith’s Association, Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade Manufacturers Association, Hong Kong Jewelry Manufacturers’ Association and Diamond Federation of Hong Kong, China, with the aim to encourage interchange of design and creativity between Hong Kong and international jewellery designers.

Every year, there are many jewellery design competitions held worldwide. The winning jewellery pieces have attracted immense attention from mass media and consumers. To honor the creative and outstanding jewelry designers, the International JDE Award creates a platform and provides an opportunity for international jewellery designers to exchange experiences and to compete for the highest honor - “Champion of the Champions”.

The International JDE Award is an elite-invitation only competition. HKTDC will invite the organisers of jewellery design competitions and designers worldwide who have won First-Prize in those competitions of which the official announcement date is during the period of 1 March 2006 to 20 November 2008 individually to participate in the International JDE Award. Becoming one of the candidates of the International JDE Award is an indication to one’s excellent and prestigious jewellery designs.
